Data Deletion Policy

Last updated: October 2026

If you no longer wish to use the Chinjikano Initiatives platform, you have the right to request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it.

1. How to Request Deletion

To delete your account and data, send a deletion request to enquiries@chinjikano.ac.zw from the email registered on your account, including your full name and student/reference number. Our Data Protection team will verify your identity before processing the request.

2. What Gets Deleted

Upon approval, we will remove your account profile, contact details, uploaded documents, portal access, and personal usage data from active systems.

3. Data We May Retain

Certain records are retained as required by education accreditation, examination, and financial/tax laws even after account deletion. This may include:

  • Awarded grades, transcripts, and qualification records (statutory archive).
  • Financial invoices and payment records (tax record-keeping).
  • Records of legitimate institutional or legal interest, anonymised where possible.

4. Processing Time

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days of identity verification. You will receive confirmation by email once deletion is complete.

5. Withdrawal of Consent

Where processing relies on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Ensure you have downloaded any transcripts or documents you wish to keep before requesting deletion.
